Chapter Five - Beast of Burden

Year 1000 of the 4th Era - Spring

After the celebrations, Exerion enlists our heroes to travel with him and an Imperial regiment to the Darklands in order to save the Fortress-town of Menethar (adv. Beast of Burden). Once in the Darklands, they discover that a huge Beast is laying waste to several town, a beast that is carrying a whole encampment on her back, and that can be controlled. Exerion proposes to the heroes to recover the Beast, and then meet him at Menethar to use the creature’s power against the Orcs. Our heroes find the Beast, and manage to kill the Fallen Archon who was the leader of the gnoll tribe controlling the Beast. The new “owner” of the Beast is now Kaya Silkess, a wizardess who originally designed the controlling helm to enslave the Beast. With the help of the colossus, the heroes break the defenses of Menethar, and chase the orcs away. Ghalan kills Gromsh One-eye. Exerion demands that Kaya gives up the Beast, but Kaya refuses. The Heroes are on her side. Exerion, furious, swears revenge.
