Chapter Four - Family Issues

As part of the celebrations, a Flying Joust takes place. At the final match, Valeros the sky-knight faces Cyrukk of the Ashclaw. Irritated by Valeros’ gryphon’ speed, Cyrukk’s young red dragon mount breathes fire, severely injuring Valeros. The heroes come to the help, but Cyrukk is too terrible a foe. The imperial guards join the fray, and, faced with overwhelming odds, Cyrukk decides to leave the grounds. Valeros is Champion of the joust. All the delegations present at the celebration bring forth a gift for the Emperor. Exerion , the first born, promises that he will save the Fortress of Menethar, now overrun by Orcs. During the last night of the festivities, Tharod presents a gift to the Emperor… a finely crafted Barbarian Cup. Apparently, some sort of device is in the cup, that releases a powerful poison, aimed at killing the Emperor. Cnaiur uncovers the plot, and unfortunately the serving wench that offered him the cup dies in agony, poisoned in his place. The Emperor does not retaliate on Tharod.
